It was a tale of two halves as the Houston Dynamo’s Giles Barnes opened up the scoring sheet in a first half dominated by Houston. In the second half, the tides turned and Seattle scrounged up the tying goal in the waning minutes of the game to steal a point from the home side.
The disparity in shots taken is reflective of the vast difference across the two halves. In the first half, the Dynamo out shot Seattle 13-1. In the second half, it was Seattle out shooting the Dynamo, 13-3.
After finding yet another way to choke away a win, this puts the Dynamo in the ignominious spot of having dropped seven points from winning positions in the final fifteen minutes of matches this year. After only having played five matches. That is the difference between being level with Sporting Kansas City for first place in the Western Conference, and sitting in eighth place where the Dynamo find themselves right now.
