2009 Soccer Industry Medical Symposium
Interest in fourth annual SIMS at all-time high; registration still available with open spots
NEW YORK (December 22, 2008) -- The 2009 Soccer Industry Medical Symposium announced that registered attendance for the fourth annual event has reached an all-time high, yet a few open spots remain open for new registrants. The event in Ft. Lauderdale, FL, takes place on Saturday, January 10, 2009, at the Marriott Harbor Beach (www.marriottharborbeach.com).
Based upon the success of the previous symposiums, the 2009 SIMS will make available a limited number of positions to qualified sports medicine professionals approved through the online registration available at www.cme.hsc.usf.edu/soccer. Sports medicine professionals are approved to receive continuing education credits for this course through the University of South Florida. Details are offered on the SIMS and USF websites.
"DJO has supported the Soccer Industry Medical Symposium since its inception and is proud of this affiliation. This annual event has provided an opportunity to support the growth of soccer and connect with the sports medicine professionals leading the way. We have appreciated being a part of this educational symposium growth and look forward to supporting its future development," Michael McBrayer, DJO Senior VP for Business Development.
The 2009 Soccer Industry Medical Symposium has created a curriculum focused on the most relevant topics facing the sport and featuring many accomplished presenters. The keynote speaker will be Jan Ekstrand, Vice-Chairman of the UEFA Medical Committee. "It is an honor to be invited to this event and discuss the evolution of preventative techniques in soccer globally. Originally, preventative programs were aimed at player factors only. Today, the load of players (decided by coaches and club managers) is recognized as an important factor as well."
"As a passionate follower and supporter of soccer and MLS, supporting this event is a real treat. Dynatronics supports MLS, SIMS and PSATS and the continued growth of these groups. That is why we are fully committed to making this event a real success and a great educational symposium. The level of expertise and experience that you provide at this event is way beyond the ordinary and is a must for anyone wishing to learn from some of the best!" said Chris Crawford, exhibitor and Product Manager for Dynatronics Corporation.
