Staging a WUSA Game in my Hometown
Jen Cooper will share the story of what it took to bring an off-season WUSA exhibition to Houston in fall 2002, and how similar events in non-NWSL markets could help grow the game and the league.

Prepping for a NWSL Broadcast
Jen Cooper and Dan Lauletta of  Equalizer Soccer will discuss the prep work involved in calling an NWSL game, and will answer questions about what’s it’s like to call a live soccer game.

The Backstory of “BackPass”
Hear the story of how the ESPN 30-for-30 “Backpass” podcast came together from writer/producer Andrew Helms. The audio documentary chronicles the rise and fall of the WUSA, the world’s first fully professional women’s soccer league.

Q&A with NWSL defender BECCA MOROS
Moros has played for four different NWSL clubs and was part of the 2015 FC Kansas City squad that won the league championship. All attendees will have the opportunity to get autographs from Moros at the end of the session. Photos will be allowed as well.

WoSo Trivia … for the Fans!
All WoSoCo attendees are invited to participate in a brief woso trivia game (although no one will be required to participate). Jen Cooper will curate the trivia game, and there will be prizes for the top teams.

Registration fee is $49 per person through Wednesday, October 23. After that date, registration fee is $60 per person.

WoSoCo 2017

The most recent WoSoCo was held the morning of the NWSL championship game in Orlando, Florida, in October 2017. The event featured a review of previous NWSL finals, a trivia game and a Q&A with NWSL broadcaster and former WPS/NWSL player Jordan Angeli.

 


WoSoCo 2.0

WoSoCo 2.0 was held Saturday, October 8, 2016, in Houston, the day before the NWSL championship game at BBVA Compass Stadium. The event included the first-ever WoSo “nerdoff” between host Jen Cooper and Equalizer Soccer’s Dan Lauletta plus a fan Q&A with Houston Dash players Cami Privett and Denise O’Sullivan.

The Inaugural WoSoCo

The first WoSoCo was held Saturday, February 20, 2016 in Houston, during the final weekend of CONCACAF Women’s Olympic qualifying. Special guests included Women’s World Cup broadcaster Monica Gonzalez, Houston Dash striker Kealia Ohai and Dash reserve keeper Haley Carter. Sessions included Hal Kaiser’s “PowerBall FC,” an analysis of building an NWSL team from scratch, and Jen Cooper’s brief video history of the USWNT.
